Snails….Yuck!!
April 17th, 2006 @ 1:46 am

Snails....ooh they're slimy, yucky, and every where in our garden! Just today as Gabriel and I played by our flower garden we found six snails and two slugs one one plant. The kids and I planted some sunflowers that were attacked {okay that word is drastic} by snails. They never made past just a few leaves. Well at least our tomatoes, cilantro, and Italian parsley are doing okay.

 Today we made a trip to Costco for some bulk items we needed . I bought the cutest Carter jumpers for Gabe there. They were only $5 and some change.What a great buy...these very same items were at Babies R Us for $10. Afterwards the kids & I had a treat at Coldstone Ice Creamery.

When we got home we unpacked and I quickly cooked Spaghetti for dinner. Then we were off to art class. Noah drew a sailboat and Lesley drew a bear snowboarding. Next I finished my grocery shopping at the commisary and I'm Tired. Well I'm off to get some much needed sleep. Buenas Noches;>}

A shopping we will go..
April 15th, 2006 @ 1:45 am

The whole family hit the mall for some very much needed wardrobe updating. Trent & I talked to the kids about comparison shopping and stretching our dollars.  The first store we went to was The Childrens Place. Talk about good sales. I especially like it when I get to take an additional percentage off the already marked down price.I love shopping there for Noah, but we even managed to find stuff there for Lesley & Gabriel. Next we ate lunch at the food court and shared a cinnabon.

Trent and I even saved up to buy new items for our pathetic wardrobes. We rarely splurge on ourselves, but today was the exception and we pretty much shopped til we dropped. I must say we all made out and got great bargins. I'm glad Lesley learned the importance of comparison shopping and by the end of our mall trip was making wise decisions on her own and trying to stretch her money and make it go a long way.

What a very long exhausting, but fun day. Ciao-

It’s been a while..
April 11th, 2006 @ 1:44 am

Time just flies by when you stop to evaulate how homeschooling is coming along  and try to figure out what changes can be made to improve. Yes, I took a long break from blogging and reading blogs. Truthfully it was beginning to consume much of my free time. My lesson plans, grading, and schedule began to pile up on me. If there is one thing I need to function well it's organization and  frankly everything was out of sorts.

I also realized that maybe I was trying to accomplish to much with a baby in tow. I needed to relax a bit and focus on what wasn't working for us.  Now I feel refreshed and recharged.

 We have been focused a lot on our Story of the World text and Ancient Crete civilization.  Soccer season has started and the kids have already played two games. I have also begin going to the gym on a more consistent basis. All this working out has given me energy and I feel great. We are moving right along....
