We are slowly learning about the homeschool group on base......still getting a feel for the group to see if it's a good match. So far everything is a go....the group is well organized and does a lot. Today we went to the P.E. class held at the base gym. The kids really enjoyed themselves. Tomorrow the group is having a science fair and my daughter and I plan to attend. Noah has started back up with the boy scouts and is working towards earning one of his badges with his dad.
Lesley has been hanging out with her new friend Jaqueline a lot and is waiting for the new soccer season to begin. It is taking her awhile to adjust living here. She misses family and certain things from the states like Dancing with the Stars. I too miss a lot back home, but I also realize this is a once in a lifetime opportunity so I don't dwell on those things too much. They say it can take up to six months to fully adjust to living here , so I'm positive that everything will begin to fall into place eventually.
A week ago we took a trip to Rome. We spent most of last Sunday there. It was a beautiful sunny day and we went to the Colosseum, Nero's palace, the Roman baths, and the Trevi fountain. We each made a wish and flipped coins over our back at the fountain. We also ate some great food ....it was absolutely amazing. We weren't able to see everything so we are planning to go back soon. Here are some pics from the trip.
